Sound Baths
Being an infant school teacher for many years, percussion instruments have always held a special place in my heart. When I left my school job I bought myself a set of Koshi chimes, as a little nod to my new life as a full time holistic practitioner.
I began to use my small range of sound healing instruments within Blossoming Babies group and they loved them.
I trained as a sound bath practitioner and then later in Sound therapy to be able to offer Sound massage which is a therapy where in place Himalayan bowls on and around someone. Sounds is incredible powerful. We know how listening to a piece of music can alter our mood, Sound therapy can lower tension, stress and promote muscle relaxation and absolutely can support emotional wellbeing.
A huge positive is the good sleep that tends to come after it.
Imagine joining me at a sound bath, a short meditative journey before letting the sound of the Himalayan and crystal bowls, Koshi chimes and drums wash over you. Take in the sounds and let them take you away. All experiences are different, you may enjoy the peace of time to yourself, you may feel the sounds are lulling you to sleep, you may use it as part of your meditative practice noticing the sound to keep you in the present moment, to you may be asleep 5 m minutes in.
If you have sound sensitivities, ( hearing aids must be removed), have sound induced epilepsy, under 12 weeks pregnant or pacemaker this may not be for you.
Sound baths are held at 7pm
Fryern Pavilion in Chandlers Ford ( 3rd Thursday of the month) and Portswood Residents' Gardens Pavilion ( 1st Sunday of the month)
